right now I bet he would walk about 90% of the cars on here. If his #'s are weak for a 1.6L then what does that make all of the guy's with 3.0 L on here weak. Because I am pretty sure that they are laying down about the same #'s.

I am not saying that I their cars aren't impressive because they are. I would love to have a 3L right now. And I am not saying that my brothers car is the fastest thing on the road either because it is not even close. But on 6 lbs of boost on an unbuilt engine I think that it worth a little more respect than you are giving it, because unless you have a 3l turbo he will be able to walk your CSVT.

and i love how you call it rice. (although i may agree with you about the window sticker) but as far as the wheels and the hood you have got to be kidding me. Because that would make my car rice and anyone on this site with an unpainted hood.

I don't mean to be so defencive but I think that it is funny that you can't show another car that a significant amount of work done to it respect.


Oh and I am pretty sure that it is not a crack I don't remember seeing one when I was looking at it. Although I will give him a call and have him look at it to make sure.

Many STOCK cars nowadays will walk my csvt. Who cares?

Well rice is just a matter of opinion, and yes I don't really like your wheels either (they look cheap, maybe they're not, but that's the way they look).
Guess what, I have an unpainted CF hood on one of my cars!

A significant amount of work?!? Turbo kits for civics are CHEAP and easy to put on. I don't know what else is done to it, but I doubt he is running 6psi, stock engine and has thousands into the suspension or what not.

And I showed it plenty of respect, maybe more than it deserves. First I said build the engine and get a bigger turbo rather than saying trash it and get a rwd v8. Then I said it's not too bad concerning the rice. That's plenty of respect for a dime a dozen low psi smallish turbo civic.

Just a little FYI, Its not that he isnt making good power, its where he is making it. He makes a peak 160 torque which is nothing to brag about, most 3L's do 200-220 WHP AND Wtrq, in a place that is actually useable on a daily basis, Take my car for Example, i made 237wtrq before 4000RPM.. Something useable. He wont hand 90% of the cars on this forum their asses. Its sweet that he went ahead and turbo charged it, its a sweet car and i give respect to any car where the owner wants to take it one step further.
 
Yea its a sweet little ricerocket(in a good way,it doesn't always have to mean that it is bad),But plus two on the "it will beat 90% of the cars on here"I don't think thats true at all,I'm with tourige on what he just last posted.But aside from the drama,ITS a Nice car

P.S after the engine is built tell him to turn the boost up and get a Vtec controller.

NO!!!! His brother put alot of work into this car and he likes it. I for one like it to. If i had a honda I would most likely have done the same thing. But i dont own a honda because I wanted to be difrent. So lay off all this rice ****. Its soooo 2000. You people need to get a life somethines. Jesus ****ing christ you people can piss me off sometimes.!!!!!

I think the main difference here is that you can open a browser and buy a turbo kit for a Civic in about 30 seconds, and install it in an afternoon. For the Contour it is a lot more involved and complicated.

That said, I think this particular example is much less "ricey" than most you see. No tacky body kit, no ridiculous wing. And since he doesn't have decals and stickers splattered all over it, I think he can be forgiven for the one on the windshield. The car is pretty understated and looks good IMO.

Either way, the OP was getting all bent out of shape because of peoples OPINIONS on the civic. Cant take the heat, then dont post it.

And hell ya if it was a turbo'd contour, everyone would be saying awesome... I don't see that being a hard concept... contour enthusiasts group!!!! hmmmm

He wouldn't get a much better response on honda boards. I talked to a buddy of mine that is big into hondas and he laughed too. That car isn't anything right now, it can be and it's a start, but I agree nothing to drool about a 225whp civic.

I have little against civics. Plain and simple, no low hp (who cares if it's turbo'd, it ain't fast) is something that I'm gonna put on a pedestal.

LMAO. If it was a turbo tour, it'd have a lot more power (yes people on a CONTOUR site will be more into a CONTOUR than some honda). Noone even said it was very rice. Tourige said it's borderline and I pointed out the couple of things that could be considered rice. And noone said it's a POS, just that it ain't nothing special. A turbo kit, wheels, and a hood isn't exactly a lot of work either for a civic. And maybe you should care less what people say or think and you wouldn't get so mad. This is a public forum, you post something then expect to hear people's opinion. And not everyone thinks the same as you.

2. The OP wasn't asking anyone to drool over his brother's car. Just showing people something other than a Contour.

Again, open forum, open opinions. Deal with it.

People have posted pictures of their cars (including me) and people post whatever their opinion is about them. I bet you have before. We shouldn't say what we think because it is a civic? Or because it has a turbo? Or are you only allowed to have opinions? Should I clear what I want to post with you before I post it? Can I have more than one friend? Will you be my friend? Do you drive an old person's car? Do you like pie?
