i was thinking baout doing the hightower mod to my lights. also i was gonna do the whole high beam in low beam thing. would it be better for me to take out the reflector thats in the low beam housing or will that make it too bright? also doesn ayone have a pic of a silver frost svt with black hightowered lights? i wanna see pix before i go and do it in case i dont like it.
thanks
-Jon

You need the reflector to control the light. It will blind everyone without it. Don't do it.

Indeed both sets have projectors in them. One in california, and one in candinadia

Pudmunkie's headlamps ARE SO NICE AND BRIGHT I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW SICK THEY LOOK ESPECIALLY IN THE DAYLIGHT! wish i had better pix when i saw the cali ride. makes me sooo jealous!

All i can say is hawttttt...Looks good me like..I have been thinking about the hightower mod..I dunno about the projectors im not that smart.Im afarid to crack open my headlights there almost new..

I was too. It sounds lots worse until you do it. You may be able to bake them open, I wasn't. Dremel time. Don't be scared, there is a pic in the old forums that shows right where to cut (search old forums under Hightower), and get a good reinforced cutting wheel for the dremel.

If they are new lights just bake them, cutting them is not necessary. Older lamps have difficulty being baked.

The easiest way to tell is to check what kind of glue is oozing out of the clips. If its black then you should be able to bake them open no problem. If its an off-white color than you might be able to bake them, but will more than likley haev difficulties.

i did a search for a "how to" on hightowering. Does anyone know if there is one that i missed? Can someone post one if there isn't?

there was a thread in aesthetics not long ago, no time to search for it but it was a baking headlight how to
