Ex gf's bro has one of those. Pretty reliable cept his clutch went at 12k...sad her tiburon gt is faster than it. Shes told me that the thing is weird to drive with the shifter in that spot it is.
 
no, not weird at all. Just looks weird. The cars really growing on me. it would smoke my svt in the twisties and unlike the SVT, keep me in my seat. super bolsters! Stiffer ride than the svt even with the bat kit and low pro tires. I'll never like another car like I liked my SVT but maintenance costs and high miles along with an eger buyer helped me make my decision to sell. I'll still be trolling around to see what's new (nothing.....ever) Just kidding! Maybe the Morettes will finally come to fruition! I'll get my projectors from e-bay, haha. I'm sure I'll be looking for an SVT when I'm 40 and nostalgic but for now it's time to move on.

Seemed like the one that was trying to keep up with me was failing.....

Anyway I like them actually, aside from the shifter... Ill never let that go. Slam it and give it a turbo.
 
My 91 escort runs about the same 1/4 mile time and kicks their butt in autox.
I don't see how it is better in the twisties than your svt. Maybe it just feels better to you or something.
The 99 type si was a lot better.
The back seat is uncomfortable as well. And they look like a mini-minivan.
But if you like it,,, for whatever reason,,, then that's cool.

Dude, its got VTAK.

The contour is problem riddled and unless you upgrade... everything... something is going to break.

The Si has a warrenty and probably wont require a new transmission if you do a 2K clutch dump.
 
The shifter in the SI is awesome. Feels amazingly natural in its position. Car handles pretty good too.

If I wanted a sports-coupe in FWD I would have gone eith a Saturn Ion RedLine.
