This isn't a big problem, as much as it is a nuisance. My ABS light is on and im wondering what would cause it to not be working. I can lock the wheels up when im on ice. So what is my problem?

if the abs light is on, theres a code. you probably just read engine codes or your scanner just doesnt scan abs. i drove through some pretty deep snow the other day(5 inches) and the scanner read that all 4 wheel speed sensors malfunctioned. i cleared the code and it hasnt read it since

Could be the tone ring. I had that problem recently. Does the abs go off or pulse any other times. I know that when the light on that the abs is off. Did anything happen before the light came on?

Well when I bought the car the light was on. Ever since then the light has stayed on and never went off. Where do I go to get the abs code cleared?

I think with the ABS, the code won't get cleared until the problem is fixed. The dealer or an independent mechanic who has the capability to repair ABS would be able to do that.

Now, if the Antilock Braking System is something you can live without and the light is just an annoyance (i.e., it is not a safety thing in your state), you can try just removing the bulb behind the dash.

it is noteworthy to say that if the ABS light is on the system is inactive, and for the most part the only people that can run your codes will be Ford and shops that have spent several grand on scanners,, Autozone, Napa, ect will not have scanners capable of checking that. just go to the dealer and get it over with
