I had the pleasure of detailing my friend's new GLI and here are some of the after-shots. I used Meguiars #26 btw. Enjoy.

I love the new VW lineup. I am still considering buying a used Rabbit in a couple of years once I get out of college. Although, I hate how car companies are putting stupid ass engine covers on to make it look cleaner. At least in my mom's GP GT you can see where all of the wires and stuff are going. I would rather see all of the components of the engine.

Yeah it was a blast to drive, although I must say I am not too big a fan of close-ratio transmissions. It felt like I was ALWAYS shifting. I don't know, maybe it was because I haven't driven stick in a while...Did I mention it'll chirp into third gear?lol.

The thing about the engine cover on this car was that the air filter box was actually integrated into the cover, so to remove the cover entirely, you'd have to replace the intake while you were at it. I always like seeing factory cold air ducts like this one though...

And thanks for the comment, guy! I appreciate that. I could've touched up the engine bay a little better, but I guess it wasn't too bad a job for three hours including hand wash, hand wax, vacuuming and interior leather cleaning. I work pretty fast.

That GLI is nice. Rubber floor mats FTW! :blackeye: Our VW dealer just got in a special edition Blue Anthracite Jetta the other day. It looks awesome. Does the GLI have a lip spoiler across the trunk like the TDI Jetta's do? If not, that'd be a pretty cool aesthetic mod.

Actually the floormats are closer to the '90s Hyundai mousefur on cardboard style of mats.:)

No, the lid doesn't have a spoiler of any kind. It made my job that much easier...lol

I'm sure Neuspeed and the like will /already have something out as far as spoilers, and it probably looks like an LM-class wing...
