Info On D2 Coilovers

Ive looked into it i would probaly have issues with wheel clearance on my TD. I plan on dropping the car as low as possible for track days and i think my 19''s would rub so im going to go down the GC/Koni route. Cheaper aswell as i have two sets of koni's

I'm actually looking at them as well, but running into the same problem with lack of feedback & info about the setup for these cars.

Yea ive struggled i to get any more feedback on them. Also would like to see pictures fitted with and without the wheels.

Seems like im talking to a brick wall.

Well, if I decide to go that route I'll definately be posting pics and a good write up. I'm also looking at the KW coiovers, but they have a lot less adjustability... granted the quality of a KW is hard to beat.

have you tried searching both here and on the old forums [and on NECO].

I've had them on my car since august and I love em. I have plenty of photos that have been posted on them, just do alittle searching.

I have 18's on the car, as pictured. The front does rub at the moment but I have not finished adjusting the setup yet. What does rub is the is when turning to the left, the tire will hit a bump in the splash shield. Other than that, normal daily driving has been fine so far. A few big dips in the road will cause the drivers tire to rub that one spot. But remember that I still haven't finished the setup yet as it isn't my daily driver and not high on the priorities.

I had pictures of the setup without the tires on but it seems that I've deleted them.

really?!? you have rubbing problems?

when I put mine on, I originally had it on a full slam [the gap between the tire and the liner was a half inch at most], I had absolutely zero contact. I did go with the full blown 11/9 spring rate.

I'll try to dig up some photos from my home computer... not that this shows anything but I feel like throwing up a pic.

oh, I was talking about the SS lines. Those are wrapped in rubber hose to prevent fraying.

Those Wilwoods I bought in 2001, IIRC, so maybe there has been a design change or something?

Thanks for the Pics 69Boss302. Got in contact with the UK part of D2 and for £720 ($1300) i can get a set for my mondeo.

They're not sure about the camber adjustment so a PT will be on its way to you.

there is no camber adjustment [and I am pretty convinced that the mondeo part is exactly identical to the contour/cougar part].

and camber is a big deal, the highest I was able to raise my front coilovers was to about a 3 inch drop [partly due to that I chose a stiffer spring rate than everyone else, and its too stiff to raise it more than that without a spring compressor]. So the tires have very visible camber to them and I'm just eating through the tread... currently the only option for camber adjustment are those camber strut mount kits, and I would almost say they are a neccessity
