So I've been toying with this idea for a while now, but im really not sure what it would take.

Here is what I want to do. I want to instal a few LED's in the bottom of the side mirrors so that when I unlock the car (aftermarket system) the puddle lights stay on for about 15 seconds.

Would I need a relay or something? Any help is appreciated, and if this is too far retched and can't be done (which I'm doubting it can be) ill just throw it out.

Thanks guys

Well that is the thing. Since it is an aftermarket system that unlocks the doors, the interior lights do not come on. That is why I think it is a little unreasonable to think that I could pull this off in this car.

There's no wire from the system that will turn on the interior lights? That sucks... Look up a wiring diagram for what you have and double check.

how about taking an interior lighting relay and timer (12 sec delay) and conecting it to the the door lock actuator circuit. Then when you unlock the door... the pulse should trigger the relay and hold for 12 secs.. Looks like you will need to source the central timer unit and relay. If you look in the workshop manual it is all laid out. Are you able to follow that diagram ? ..G.
