They're very...gold? Wagony? Seems like you have quite a thing for Volvo station wagons. Did you get the same color on purpose, or did it just work out that way?
The 1996 is the one with the black trim, in 1998 they started painting the trim (which looks better).
Colors are similar but hard to tell by pictures; mine is Pewter silver, hers is Mystic silver metallic We didnt intentionally get similar colors, it just happened. Volvos are just safe cars. I use my wagon like a truck for hauling everthing from bricks to sheetrock. Plus how can i complain with 222HP .
We need the cargo space, between kids, dogs and what not. Wifes car we got dirt cheap with repairs needed. Put $400 of parts and maintance and car runs great. My father in-law is a 30 year Volvo mechanic. So he does all repairs for us and services the cars. Her car Needed a heatercore, dealer price for install was $600, part $119, its so awesome to have a mechanic in the family. Just on this car we have saved thousands with just having to buy parts and not pay dealer fees.
I like how you can see the subtle evolution between the years. They look virtually identical but the newer one is all softer and more round. The '96 has more square fenders whereas the '98 has more round front fenders....oddly enough the rear ones are still more square-looking...and it just looks goofy.
