Code help?

Borrowed my buddies scanner and all I got was: P1131 - insufficient switching O2's 1/1 lean.

How do I know which one it is?

Also got P0401 - EGR flow insufficient but I think I fixed that.

sounds like its time for a new O2 sensor and a cleaning of the egr passages behind the tb.


you can always swap upstream O2 Sensor and see if you get the same code for the other bank, then you know that the sensor needs to be replaced.

Cool, I'll look into that. It has had it for awhile now and always returns after clearing. The EGR has not come back after it's cleaning though. Can you clean O2's btw? I don't think you can but has any body tried it?

Don't bother. There is no benefit in doing so.

Not to my knowledge no. At this point you might as well just get some new ones from rockauto and replace them. Do NOT buy from the local chains, they charge an arm and a leg. They wanted $76 for ONE O2 last time I checked... They're half that on rockauto.
