MIRACLE; I bought an svt with a blown motor for cheap before blufuzz could get to it!

Hey alex, you might be better off (price wise) to get another complete svt motor or a 3.0 instead of building your 2.5L that is tore apart. Longevity wise, you should build up the motor you have in the garage but it will take you awhile and I want to see you drive that t-red to SZ this year ......

There is a MTX in Cali for $200+ship. Good price IMO. Why do you need a trans? The diff wasn't blown .

No but the guy said 3rd gear synchros were going. You might be right about the motor. We'll see. Pretty sure SZ can't happen this year without another miracle.

I might have an MTX for you if you're looking to get your hands dirty. It's got 115k on it and you can feel the #2 synchro is starting to go. Although, I never got a chance before my engine swap to change the fluid to see if that made a difference. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

Let me know when you want to trade or sell it to me. I am waiting by the phone .......

Still debating on part out or rebuild. The problem with rebuilding is I can't really put too much $$ into it. It doesn't really need a whole lot to get it going though. The dash is totally f'd, warped to hell. You can actually see it in the pics if you look close. The trans will need some attention, 3rd gear synchros. One of the doors possibly needs to be replaced. Other than that, just swap in a motor and its another nice T-Red. This isn't counting any surprises I don't know about.

I was third in line for this car when i contacted her, oh well, nice buy.

Honestly, after those problems, i'd part it out, but that's just me, but if you can let it sit until you find all the replacement parts you'll need to make it perfect then that'd be a good thing.

Good luck.

I'll take it off your hands if you don't feel like repairing it. I'm sure I'm about 100th in line though.

nope.
i havent been advertising as much as a should.
hoping to get it on craigslist soon.

threw a repair plate on it last Thursday and ripped around the neighborhood in it.
it pulls like a champ!
stopping...that's a different story...there is about 5 years worth of rust on the rotors.

Very nice pick up!

For anyone that may be interested, I will have a 99 tred/tan #604 for sale with a 3L and upgraded trans (except for the lsd) in about a month.

GAH! don't part! SAVE!

For me, the smart thing to do is probably part out.

BUT I CAN'T DO IT!

Nobody ever accused me of being smart but it seems like it would be a shame to let this one die when it would be relatively easy to get it running again.

Maybe I'll regret it if it costs too much time and money but I'm bringing this thing back to life.

BAH.....just put it on jack stands in the garage and when time and parts come about repair it. For the price you bought it you mind as well just take your time. Or if you want I'll take it off your hands complete part out and all. I'll save you the time of parting it out.
