Well I do.
Sometime this week I'll be picking up a 1997 Oldsmobile Achieva with only 30,000 Miles, no thats not a typo.
We are buying it off a older lady (90 year old) she bought brand new, still has the window sticker and all the paper work.
My dad went to look at it for us up in Toledo yesterday. She was asking $2500 for it my dad offered her $2k and she accepted my dad even said he'd take it if me and the wife didn't want it.
There is a scrape on the front bumper where she hit her garage door my dad said.
And a "little" dent, crease on the passenger doors where she hit something, the interior is unbelievable.

yeah old people cars usually rule. a few years ago i was at the mechanic with my dads car, and this old woman pulls up in a mint condition chevelle/malibu (it had a chevelle badge on the trunk, and malibu badges on the c pillars). had like 20 or 30k miles on it. Still had the plastic on the seats inside! EVERYTHING was original except for the tires. everything. story was her son bought the car, went to vietnam and didn't come back. she kept the car and used it for grocery shopping and church. other than that i don't think the car ever left staten island.

Should be a decent ride, just a DD anyways, no mods or anything planed for it. This thing I think is loaded it has Traction Control, even though I told the wife when there is a lot of snow on the ground we are NOT driving it (unless we absolutely have to) , thats what the rusty escort and blazer is for, I figured it would be a nice car to have around also since I don't drive the Mystique that much anymore that I have something else to drive, and I keep it in, in the winter.
Trust me I'm gonna try my HARDEST to keep this car as nice and clean as I can, my dad works in a body shop so fixing those little body blemishes shouldn't be a problem.

Keeping it of course. I'm gonna be driving it to work and back. That is our mileage/gas saver car. :D
It has 153K on it and still going strong. I'm gonna see how many miles I can put on it til the body rots to pieces or the motor blows up, which ever comes first.

my grandmothers 95 escort ATX wagon is over 280k miles and she bought it new, it is still running good. Seeing how reliable and functional her escort was was what first prompted me to pick up an escort. I have owned 3 actual drivers since, and more than a dozen parts cars.

Got the car home yesterday in one piece.

Got the car home yesterday in one piece.

Yep that's right picked it up yesterday morning, got it home mid-afternoon, this car is amazing, it drives about like a brand new car, suspension is stiff, steering is great (not as aggressive as the Mystique's) She also has some get up and go for a 4 banger. I also seemed to get good gas mileage so far out of it, i just did not even half a tank on 140 miles. The stereo sounds great for being factory. (just a tape deck) The thing that I like is the head lights and tail lights turn on when you start the car and the doors lock as soon as it goes into drive and when you turn the car off, they unlock. It even still has a little new car smell in it too. I'll have to snap a picture of the window sticker and put it up on here sometime, I'm gonna go over all the paper work here this week when I have some time.
