Question for everyone how do I know if it's an E0 or not...need to get new rotors and pads and there is a difference I am told...Please let me know ASAP thanks :)
 
looks like your is an E1 by the looks on the rims and also the lil dohc emblem im not sure but i think its a lil higher on the door guards on E0 and there about even on the E1 or something like that:shrug:
 
Take a closer picture of either front caliper and we should be able to tell.

E0 and E1 calipers look different and the EO uses a larger brake pad than the E1.

From the pictures you have posted already, I'd say E0... but I'd need a better picture to 100% sure.
 
sorry I never got those pics...blah...been busy as crap trying to fix the actuator valve on the focus and the only thing we can think of is taking the whole pos out. damnit. I hope to get those pics soon but I found out the build number. it's in the 1000's somewhere so it's a very early one. the guy on the phone told me he THOUGHT it was an E0 based on the build number. I dunno how accurate this is.

What are the pad differences between them? huh. thanks all!
 
holy crap that's a lot of difference. So the E1's are definitely better than the E0's...damn...is there any way for me to check that without taking them off the car? Thanks
 
You'll either have to post a picture of the caliper for us or you'll have to take the pad out and compare it to the picture in the link I posted.
 
I guess I missed some posts. If you're asking what brakes are on that car they are E0 calipers. I can tell by looking at them. Only 98's were red with blue interior. Tan interior were in the E1's. Someone put E1 wheels on that car at some point. You'll need the early style E0 pad.
 
huh thanks. I'll still try and get a pic to be sure. brakes have to hold off the damn focus needs the supercharger taken out and put back in cause the stupid ass actuator valve is broken. pisses me off...oh well
