No heat, ac always engaged.

well, 3 days ago my contour started only blowing cold air out, i tried everything!

I did nothing differently no mods or anything when it occured.

i came here and searched and found nothing so...

ok so the symptoms:

Radiator Fan is always on, even when i just start the car and its engine is cold.

Whenever i turn the heat on foot or defrost or anything it just engages the ac and blows cold air. I pushed the engine hard and at high rpms it does disengage the ac and blows heat...

the ac does not engage when the dial is on OFF.

I am stunned, if anyone can help me i would appreciate it a lot.

oh and its a 98 contour, 4 cylinder

Sounds like the A/C control head is the problem, because, as you said, the compressor disengages under heavy load as it should, meaning the relay and compressor clutch is working.

The wrong but easy way to fix this problem is to pull the compressor clutch relay. Other than that I would need to look at some wiring diagrams for the car. Unfortunately they're at home and I'm not.

actually for future references...
it was the radiater fluid...
it was low, however, it seemed like it was at maximum, but when i added some it went all the way down and there was nothing in there!

so thanks for your help, but it was a simple issue hahaha.

if a mod could close this it would be nice.
