Where would I locate:

1. the cable that opens the secondaries (I believe it is under the throttle body, cant seen to put a finger on it though.)

2. The adjusting screw, which adjust the intial setting.

3. What would I be looking for if my secondaries are pinned?

Pulling P1518, trying to narrow it down.

Alright, we had a decent weekend so i decided to look into my IMRC failure (open). I took the Cover off and followed the cable to the bracket. it looked in good shape and i started up the car and blurpped the throttle while checking the cable, no movement, but i couldnt see the cable anymore, like it was pulled taunt. Can i assume this is in the open position? Because then i turned off the car and removed the metal cover to the IMRC. After removing the 4 screws and the cover. I started the car and learned the cover held the motor in (not a big deal). I did realize the motor was constently running as it was being told to open the secondaries. When i pushed the motor in place, it stopped as if the secondaries were already open. Make sense? Does it sound like Hightower's fix will take car of it? or is there another factor im missing?

Trace the cable out of the box, it passes through 2 clips that secure it down then it bends up and comes back forward where there is a fitting that it clips into as well as the end of the cable which is where it clips onto the spring mechanism that opens the butterflies. Easiest way to see and get to all of this is to remove the TB/airbox. Or if you have good eyes and/or small hands, just use a good flashlight and you'll be able to see it all.

EDIT: To my understanding, the hightower fix is to replace the transistor which becomes heatsoaked and dies. The bad one is replaced with a higher temp handling transistor. If you do go the hightower route, have fun getting the circuitboard out of the box. The glue or whatever they seal it with is a hardcore PITA to get out of the grooves. Someone might correct me on how to fix the motor being stuck on, but I would say the easiest thing to do is just buy another IMRC box and replace it which only takes about 45mins.

Hopefully this helps you.

this was my problem until I finally replaced it about a week ago... its sort of a pain in the ass but once you get the old one off it goes faster...

I found it easiest to remove the entire air intake and the throttle body bracket and cable so I could get my hands in there.. You sorta have to wedge a screwdriver into the butterfly lever which the cable controls and push it twards the fire wall so you can get some slack in the cable and pull the plastic end off of the peg.. once you get that off then you need to get it off of its bracket by depressing some clips.

make sure you install the cable routing where the last one was.. I didnt pay attention to that small detail and now my routing prevents me from putting the plastic engine cover back on as the cable wont allow it to go all the way down.. I honestly should re-route it but after an hour or so in the garage fighting with getting my chubby hands where they had to be I didnt feel like changing it.
