ST220 UIM's Where are you at?

so, your saying, me running an 04 taurus block with an 05 taurus UIM is as good as it gets for oval port besides a st220 setup? :P

No, because I don't believe the 05 Taurus got the updated intake, but I believe the 05 Escape did.

I am porting out the alum. Taurus manifold that came on my car. The (split) port division only goes about 1/2" up, so why not just get rid of that. It's the same design as the ST220 (short rear/long front)iirc)), and via porting you have an oval port UIM). Are the ports on the UIM too big for the plastic LIM (beyond port matching)? Even if not it work's with gutted 2.5 LIMs. I personally find 10 hours worth of porting a lot easier to swallow then $300-500 to get a ST220 uim.

its not as close as you think, you are better off not wasting your time and just using the stock plastic manifolds...

My application is for forced air, it's plenty fine for that and it's going to be my daily driver. I used an SE lim because it's smaller and is a better (easier) transition than the SVT lim to the 3L ports. I'm about halfway done, it's plenty worth it too me. Peronsally I just don't think it's worth the money. I honestly only think you would get barely a few more whp, has anyone ever done back to back dynos?

PS: You wouldn't happen to be running a boost brothers turbo kit on that stang, would you?

How much of a difference is there with the 05 escape and the 06 Mazda manifold?
Nobody can give you a real answer thats more than an opinion unless there's a back to back dyno that has never been discussed.
If I use the ST220 I likely will do a before/after with a later plastic UIM as long as the dyno time would be reasonable (probably would use Dom and Stage 3 if I go oval port).

05 taurus isn't the same as escape. but its the newer design over the 01-03 style i know that for sure.

i did have to re-mount the coil pack for this. oh well maybe i'll pick up an 05 escape style if its so much better ;)

I have one right now, but if I keep it someone might hunt me down and kill me . Don't worry bret :D, you will get it back ;)

uh oh, powdercoated goodness! i'm so glad he kept his car. maybe i'll be able to get enough money to buy it when he decides to make a post again ;)

Im glad I still have it. Never really wanted to sell it, but economy is kinda forced me to try at least. I may not keep the post up, but money talks any time.

that giant sum:censored: won't fit, not without a fair amount of modification. However I just noticed yours has a couple difference then the one I have posted here.
