Would anybody in Raleigh/ eastern nc be willing to drive to Greenville and help me with my 3L swap? i've been working on it for a year now, i had it running but it was spewing oil every where, then i fixed that problem to lead into wiring harness problem. i reinsulated the wiring harness, and now i don't have any fire?

I would be willing to pay for gas to and from Raleigh area, could possibly afford a little incentive, and feed you(grilling out, and free beer would be included). I would really just want to look at another csvt to make sure i'm not missing something (ground wire or such).

I would really appreciate any and all help, just let me know

Would you need another 3L to look at, or a regular SVT suffice? I am always looking for something to do on the weekends.... the weekend after the 7th would work for me if a regular SVT will do...

Buy me a plane ticket and Ill go look at it for you. That or you can post quality detailed pics of the engine bay... top and bottom and I might be able to assess the problem.

sorry for the late response guys, but a regular svt would work... although i couldn't afford to pay for your gas all the way from florida. lol, and same goes for the plane ticket. i'll get some pictures up later on when i have time to take some of everything under the hood.

id be willing to swing by for the gas money. hopefully be able to help you get it going. lmk if you want to talk more about it.

ok, so i found out that i don't have a pulse going to my coil pack... but i've already replaced my ecm, is there a way to check the ecm to prove rather it is good or bad?

what ecu was it before and what is it now code wise? Is the little metal strap connected to the coil pack grounded to the motor?

it's the rj... what ever i can't remeber exactly, but it was replaced with one of the same code. i lost the metal strap so i made another ground wire, and i've connected it pretty much everywhere i could think of to ground it out (even the battery terminal) and didn't get a different response no matter what i tried. is there a certain spot on the motor that it should be grounded to? currently i have it to one of the uim bolts.

just an update, i've now got spark... some of the insulation from the crank position sensor wiring came off and was shorting itself out. i'm charging the battery and will find out tomorrow what my next step will be.

very nice

ok, so i have random spark to no spark. does anybody know how to test a crank position sensor, i replaced it before i put the engine back in but i don't know if the wires shorting it out could make it bad.
