My passenger's seat belt won't click shut unless I monkey with it several times and hold the release down while I am inserting the male end of the belt.

I have peeked into the female part of the seatbelt and there are no obstructions - at least none that I can see. Can the seatbelts be safely taken apart? Is it worth screwing around with or should I just buy another seatbelt?

I have the same problem for my driver seat. Mine is because there is a small plastic edge which broke. I have to install another buckle. Just have to pay for it. 69Boss302, one of this days, you will be paid and the transaction will be concluded.:o

As for your issue, I have had that too. (Man, I have had a lot of issues recently :o :D ). The belt for the driver back seat will click and "lock out" every now and then. Then I can't push the tongue in until I push the button and hope for the spring to reset the locking mechanism. Some WD-40 (and pushing in and out) took care of that. Basically, with the cold weather, the spring in the locking mechanism and the dirt collected caused it not to push the lever back. Try that first. If not, get a new or used one. I would not advise taking apart the buckle (female) end of the belt.
