We got dumped on today with 4-6 inches. It's been 60 degrees here on and off for the last week. Stopped by the local grocery store, come out and drive out of the parking lot... pull up to the stop sign, and notice I'm not stopping. Glance to the left and a early 90's S10 Blazer was heading my way. The anti locks were doing their job, but hers didn't! She locked 'em up and hit me right in the left fender!! I know it's my fault and it didn't do anything to the chrome horn on that thing!
Now I need some advice on how to proceed. I broke the clips on the grill and headlight (both were popped off on impact). There is a dent in the fender that I need to see if it can be popped out or if it needs to be replaced. I needed new headlights anyway. Can you buy grills new anymore? I'll probably go to the yard tomorrow for a fender.
Structural damage looks nil.
Just had to share. That's the first time I've hit or been hit since I was 16... 16 years ago. :blackeye:

I got a grille off ebay, fits perfectly. If I can find the link where I bought it from I'll send it to you.

Link for grille. Autodepot, came fast also.

BTW.. Thanks for sending that crap my way.

i think it would be easier to just put on a new fender, would be alot easier imo......if you look around you can probably find one the same color.....it would literally take you just a few minutes to swap out fenders.....there's no way you can pop that dent out without using some filler, and having to do some paint work though the dent is really minor...but you may crack the paint, and just popping it out probably wouldn't look perfectly smooth...

:(
Just an FYI about the headlights sold on Ebay... they are hit and miss with their fitment. Some have had good luck and others haven't.

My advice, contact Bill J @ Team Ford or Steve @ Tousley for the headlights. They will fit correctly.

As Dacker said, Ebay for the grille.

Good luck with the repairs.

I don't think furniture will fit.

Whatever, dlphnfn knows what I meant. ;)
It still works, fitment.

If I have offended you I am sorry. My comment wasn't meant in a personal manner. It's just that I had not heard the word fitment used before posting on CEG so I looked it up. The furniture reference provided a funny visual in my mind especially considering the Mondeo connection. I've been in rural southern Indiana for the last 2 out of 3 weeks and have heard some very different use of the English language.

No, I'm not offended at all. :)
There was actually supposed to be a wink smiley at the end of my first sentence (above post). I apparently forgot to insert it. I'll fix it.

The headlight is attached to the car, the car is a machine. It works. LOL!

I've heard that term in that context, so I'm good there!
I'll stick to Ford OEM lights. I needed those anyway. I might eBay the grill. I went hunting for a fender today. Struck out. There were supposed to be 2 red ones in Des Moines. One was not there and the other had a bunch of rust on it. I'm going to go to north eastern Iowa on Monday. There's supposed to be a couple red ones up there.
I was looking at the bumper in the sun light today, and it looks like the paint did flex a little on the bumper. I hope it's ok, but I'll find out more when I get it all done and washed up.
Just on a side note, do I have to remove the skirt to remove that bottom bolt for the fender? It looks like it on the Ford CD. Just curious. I haven't started yet... :o
