I have a 1998 csvt with a 2000 motor, I'm having trouble starting the car, its not all the time, noticed it alot more since its been cold, car cranks fine just won't start, let it sit and try it later no problem..............help!

Next time, try pushing the gas pedal all the way down (don't pump it). This shuts off the fuel injectors. I suspect the rings are not as tight anymore. And the pistons are "wash out" resulting in the engine having lost compression. Sometimes, just waiting a while allows the gasoline to dry out or "leak" into the oil. And then the engine fires up again.

Ive been having the same problem lately, as stated above just push down on the gas pedal and it should start up.

My car was having the same problem and I just disconnected the negative battery cable for a little while, reconnected it and haven't had the problem since. It's worth a try.

Hey it finally did it again today, tried pushing the gas pedal 1/2 down, and all the way down, neither worked, will keep you guys posted

If it is an intermittant problem, you may just have a loose connection at the crank position sensor. Just reach down there an jiggle it a little bit next time it won't start. I had that problem for a long time before someone on this forum suggested this fix. It was driving me crazy. Crazier.
