Since I need a tune for my car, anyone else want to meet or get a tune as well? We will need to set it for a month or more ahead in time. Just want to get the ball rolling. The closest place that does anything will be in the cities, so that shouldn't be too far for most of you
 
What time of year? I have a few things I would like to get finished before a dyno/tune... and if they go anything like last years projects, my car won't be on the road all 6 months of insurance :laugh:

Honestly I don't think it will matter that much. Just as long as it isn't around April 15th (the wife will be cranky that I am spending money on a tune when we have to pay $750 in taxes at the same time. ) :laugh: Just figure a good time for everyone that needs one. I know Tricker said he needs one as well, and that he wants it before SZ.
 
^^^^ yep he's gonna tune my car. im' gonna get the xcal first though. joey's price is a tiny bit lower, might as well save a few bucks.

What does Hitech Charge? and how much is the chip going to cost? I only ask cause I'm new to PCM tuning and know nothing, so any help will be appreciated.

Just talked to Casey today and even though he might be leaving them soon full time, he said he would still be involved on a part time basis.

I would assume that we would just need to schedule a time with him and give him plenty of notice.

Also when I talked to him today he told me the price for a dyno tune and chip is $550. I'm new to this but that sounds kind of expensive. Is this what you guys paid when you went to him for an initial tune and chip?

That's actually not that bad for a dyno tune. Maybe a bit more than average. The chip alone you are probably paying $250 for, that leaves $300 for the dyno/tuning time.

Personally I'm going to go to DB, nothing against Hi-tech though.
 
What is DB charging? Casey has done like six 3L Contour SVT's so far, so I'm thinking he has the most experience in dyno tuning these cars in our area. I need to purchase some exhaust parts before I tune, but I'm thinking of tuning around March or April depending on how I tackle my CEL's. If we do a group deal and get a discount, I'll purchase my stuff alot fast (I've got the dough, just want to spend it on my 4x4)

Not sure what they're charging. I'd imagine its pretty similar, but since I already have an Xcal I don't expect it to cost that much for me. My setup is different enough that dyno experience will be nil no matter where I go around here.

No that was included in the price I'm sure. I was just breaking down the price you're probably paying for just the tune :)
 
Lets see if we can get 5 people in on this then. We can get a list of who will be going and then pick a date (and argue where).
