I never realized how much of an insane beast the Mazda is in the snow until Mike was tooling around in it Sunday morning.

We got quite a bit of snow overnight, so when we got up at 9ish we were disappointed because we wanted to go out for breakfast.
Mike decided to snowblow one side of the driveway and free up the Mazda.
When he finished that, we set out for breffast.
The roads had not been plowed yet. I'd say we easily got 8 inches of snow.

We did some fun slip and slides, and got a decent amount of funny looks from those clearing the snow from their driveways.
I think some people were waiting for us to get stuck when we had to stop at stop signs.
NOPE!

So anyway, after breakfast, on the way home, Mike's tooling around again on the backroads - mostly in our neighborhood. Roads still weren't plowed.
He decides to put the car to its limits and heads up our hill.
If any of you have been to our house, you know how steep the hill is.
He drives a couple houses up and then comes to a complete stop.
I tensed up waiting for the show to unfold. I think I only had like a 1% doubt that we wouldn't make it, but still.
The car was a tank. It barely struggled to get up the hill.
It was a friggin riot, and so much fun!

Our elderly neighbor was digging out his walkway when we first started up the hill. We waved and laughed as we drove by. He looked totally perplexed.
I'm surprised he didn't come knocking on the door later to ask if we were nuts.
(or maybe he already knows we are nuts :D ).

Man what a fun time though.

Yeah definitely has some snows on it.
I don't even recall the brand. Dunlop maybe?
This is the second season we've run on these tires. We bought them cheap off some dude selling his stock fanblades because he sold his car with his summer rims. He only put about 2,000 miles on the snows.
We were originally just looking for some stockers to throw our own brand new rubber on, so when we found his ad, we were like "bonus!"

I enjoyed driving around yesterday morning also. the roads had been cleared already but I was out early enough that the remaining bit of snow left behind hadn't been worn away yet. e-brake was pulled around many a turn

I was having some fun last night around midnight with the 540 and my buddy in his A4 S-Line.:drool:

RWD and AWD FTW!!

staying close to home? Chickens!

I'll bet...you wanted to get stuck so you could use your big manly truck to pull it out.

The only time I've had the Mustang in any snow was a few weeks ago, when Robin needed her car. Week before Christmas, I believe.

Our parking lot here in the office is typically awful. If it's not covered in snow, it's a sheet of ice. And I park in back, so it's a nice left turn into an empty side of the lot. Suffice to say... there was a very predictable back- end kick out when I turned left. :)

ahhh...football, it all makes sense now

I took my all-terrain vehicle & the snow attachment out saturday with the kids:
