At the top left where the mesh is on that plastic cover, is that as easy as I think it is? Oh LOL for cutting plastic, always heat up a stainless steel knife or cutting tool using fire, it makes this so much easier.

No, it's EXTREMELY hard to install. Requires welder, flux capacitor, plutonium, and a lightsaber.

Ok, seriously, just cut and install mesh of choice. There isn't much to it.

ya lol i have a problem with my cover, see the screw on the left... well I was untorx'in it and guess what, the TOP broke off... :( now the screw is stuck in there for ever. I have to drill a fine hole into it, apply some glue then twist it out now don't i?

Sounds like Waaaaaaay too much time for a Mod with not much show. But Hey, whatever makes people happy...

I really find it hard to believe its going to make that huge of a difference. I dont see the imrc cover trapping in that much heat, not to mention, the hood is still going to trap it in anyways. The heat source is coming from the valve cover. Even with that opening, heat still conducts and convects from the top of the valve cover through the BOTTOM of the IMRC. If you want some cooling, your going to need some source of forced convection. (i.e. fan)

Beyondloaded, I agree, that's why mine is still whole. I was just stating why some people have cut the hole.

Stands for Intake Manifold Runner Control. It is the device that open up the secondaries above 3400 RPM's, dep. on throttle position. It's that little box under the plastic Duratec cover.

Yeah I've seen when I changed the plugs but wasn't sure what it was for. Does it go bad often?

It seems to be a hit or miss. In the 8 years Ive owned my car, ive never had one go bad due to heat. Only when I accidently dropped it on the driveway. DOH.
