Dome light

I have a 96 contour GL.

The dome light on it has never worked..so i got around to getting new bulbs for it today. However, it still does not work. Could the dome light be bad? A possible fuse? Please help

First of all do the other lights come on? If they dont I'd say door switch. Otherwise it may be that the bulb is loose in the dome light and you'll have to bend the contacts a little.

Every other light works in my car..the one under the steering wheel as well.

The lock button lights on both front doors, do not work however.

It is either the dome light holder or the wiring to it.

The lock lights go bad very often. I have had to replace them during the warranty period. When it ran out, I just went without 3 of the lock lights.

I know, i can go without the lock lights. There is just no light in my car at night..and its annoying :S

I am positive..ill try again tomorrow to make sure.

The dome light in my SVT was dead too when I bought it. I didn't bother with a new bulb or anything (the bulb looked ok), I just bought a whole housing with bulbs from a CEGer for like $10 or so.

Maybe ill try to trade my door panel for one then..or try to find one at a junk yard?
