WEIRD idle surge

Ok I searched, last week my idle sarting surging anywhere from 1-2k when I start the car, then it feels like it is hesitating and stuttering when I am driving, yetthe idle doesn't seem to change when stutering.:help: Oh and the only mod is a cai my husband put on for me.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

rpms hitting ~1~2 krpm on start up is not un common. sometimes, more so in the cold they will hang up there alittle longer then in the summer.


check for codes anyway and start by making sure the intake is installed correctly and isn't leaking air from any joints etc.

after that remove and clean the iac if the idle is still off. if that helps then consider replacing the IAC as cleaning it will only make it work so long before it needs to be replaced anyway.
