so I was reading a hilariouse thread about some clown who blew up a 4th gen 'maro or something and supposedly it was his spray bottle.

has anybody ever considered situations like this could be from all the HYDROGEN an improperly installed relocated battery fills your trunk with?

add the nos that'll come past the safety valve when the tank IS ON FIRE and you got yourself a big welding torch.

which brings me to, arent optimas a sealed battery? IE, no gas releases from them? would an optima still need to be vented?

No Optimas dont need to be vented, they are a drycell - which is the point of them.

Also you read this 'hilarious' thread on CEG and could have posted it in that thread instead of making a new one.

hey i didnt even have to finish my own fight on that thread, rawburt came and made the final call lol. i don't know why ever'body talks so much smack on here to me because ya'll love me when we're at SZ! ooh stop it you know you do lol

The few nitrous explosions, of sitting cars, I have seen or read about were caused by the heater circuit being "stuck" on. This causes the bottle to fail because of pressure and not because of combustion.

it never happens these days. they have safety pop off caps on the valve that will release the nitrous before it reaches a pressure that can blow a bottle up. it could happen easier with a composite bottle, however. i bet that's where half of these occurances come from.

Wow, its made it nationwide...it was in south MS. The bottle didn't have a burst valve in the bottle nozzle.

blah blah blah lies lol there are these things called rules and regulations for controlled substances like that. you can't sell a kit without a safety release on it nowdays. it may have been an age old kit or somthing but sounds to me like pure stupidity, or a composite (carbon fiber, whatever) bottle letting loose. i can see that happening much easier than a steel bottle going like that.

You dont know anyone who would remove safety equipment because someone told them it would improve performance or flow somehow? :)

legally, probably in the last fifteen years, any nitrous kit sold is required to have the pop off cap to prevent those cases. it was either a really rare case of the cap not working or some crazy circumstance with open flame on teh bottle or something of that sort. i dont care the pics are your evidence thats cool but i hate people giving nitrous oxide systems a bad name. it is the most efficient power adder bar none and it can be used on top of any other power adder. use it!
