Driveline Vibration Issue - Possible Root Cause

This guy ran over a mattress and decided to keep going. The ensuing jumble finally whipped around enough to put a tear in the gas tank, the subsequent lack of fuel is what finally brought this vehicle to its knees.

It had still managed to drive 30 more miles decently with a 60lb tangle wrapped around the driveshaft.

This genius complained that the vehicle had a "shimmy" when driving it high speeds.

This is what the dealership found..............

yep some people shouldn't have cars:nonono: one tec say's hey guys look at this:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

Looks like he picked up the whole mattress when he hit it.... Don't people usually look behind them when they drive over stuff to make sure it came out behind them.... and didn't get stuck... wouldn't you notice a WHOLE MATTRESS......:sadness:

I showed all the other techs at my Chevy dealer, Were convinced this is an older silverado because of the wax infused U-joints (were the only folks to use them AFAIK)

lol, apparently our suspension guy had a car suffer an identical incident many years ago but it came from the other side of the freeway, he said it was insane, he said he spent an hour and a half just tryin to get to the yoke so it could be unbolted...lmao!

couldn't you just use a torch to cut most of the wire and then snips or something when you get close to the driveshaft?
