I recently bought a set of HIDs from XenonDepot.com and I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. They seem to be kind of idiot-proof but I still can't figure them out. I attached a picture because I thought that would be better than me trying to describe it. Any help on this would be appreciated.

You are plugging in that one that is not plugged into anything right? I believe that one goes into your stock 9006 plug.

Give me some more details and I can help you out. I have a kit from XD when they first started making kits. Except mine is genuine OEM with the Phillips slim ballast. Looks like XD is getting cheap or did you not go with the OEM kit?

Why are the two smaller plugs running to two black wires? One of the small single plugs is positive the other is the ground.

Possible you have them mixed?

Ok the problem is that when i plug this into the factory 9006 plug nothing happens. all the other lights work though. As far as the small wires they only go together one way.

check the polarity of the 9006 adapter. the kits that i bought (not from XD) the wires were put into the wrong pins on the plug that goes into the ballast.

thats a good idea I will check that (Edit) ok i just checked and it looks to be ok to me the black wire is in the - and the blue wire is in the +. So I would assume that black is negative as it usually is and blue is positive. correct me if I am wrong

does a regular bulb work if you plug it into the factory plug? you might have blownt he fuse the first time you tried to turn them on.

Yeah I ran into the problem with mine. I replaced the stock fuse with the "upgraded" (ie higher load) fuse. The fuses were crap and kind of half blew. Got a decent set of 25amp fuses and no problems since.

do you hear a "rapid clicking" noise when you first give it power to turn on? If it is working correctly there should only be one click as the ignitor ignites the bulb. If you are not hearing any clicking and it does not ignite it could be the ignitor.

p.s. try taking a picture of the complete wiring harness so we can see where you have everything running to.

when you check the polarity of the wires, did you check both plugs or just the one going to the ballast? i would double check that the blue wire is going to the orange (IIRC) wire in the factory plug if you havent already.

I dont hear the relays clicking at all when i turn on the switch but im inside the car when i do that. I could post a picture of it hooked up but the only thing that is different is the last plug is hooked up to the factory 9006 plug so I'm not sure what that would tell you or maybe I am misunderstanding what you are saying. As far as the polarity goes I have checked all that and it all checks out.

ok i read over your post too quickly and i think you just figured it out I just looked and the blue wire is going to the black wire when i plug it in. So I am going to switch them and try again

good to hear you got it working. i knew it had to be something simple. now you will never want to drive a car without HIDs.:laugh:

good job. Yea the kits are pretty easy to hook up. Plug and play so it had to be something simple. Glad you got it working.

Now you can upgrade to HID fogs. I love having quad HID
