...this car has trooped. I loved the damn thing the whole time we've had it, and I finally get to take it to school for the first time. It was just registered last night.... And the transmission died tonight.

I feel like I got kicked in the chest. I babied the thing like you would not believe, and it started bucking and kicking. So, I grannied it to my friend Kevin's house, and it'll probably get towed to my house in the morning. We'll see if I can convince my Dad to put another tranny in the thing. If not, I'll start checking Craigslist for another Contique.
 
When did it start bucking/kicking? 1-2 shift or during any gear shift?

Haha, no... This was NOT bangshift, if that's what you're directing me to. The tranny was slipping very badly above 55MPH, and would occasionally in the 2-3 shift.
Hey take a look at the Chevy Cobalt. My wife bought one last week. I kinda like it.
With all due respect, I'm going to stay with Fords. We just looked at an '06 Focus ST in black with the black/red interior and a 5-speed. That thing was a barrel of monkies!:crazy:
 
my friend has an 07 ST. he loves it. its decently quick with the 2.3L and gets good gas mileage. he's got one of the ford body kits on it. he basically got it for about $3k but thats because his 06 focus was totaled so the insurance company gave him like $14K for it and the ST was only an extra $3k. he basically paid for the upgrades. :laugh::laugh:
 
If by decently quick, you mean rapes a Zetec/ATX Contour like a small boy in the Neverland Ranch; then yes, it is decently quick.

I can't wait to make a decision! This is an awesome way to cheer me up!:laugh:
 
A small boy on foot could beat a Zetec/ATX. Especially if he was running away from MJ.

We looked into the problem more, and it looks like a tranny cooler could probably solve this car's issues completely. It's fine until you drive it about 85 miles, then the tranny overheats. I'll post it up inm the cl;assifieds, see if I get any bites:shrug:

EDIT: Dude!!!! The MLPS is probably the prioblem! The lever no longer completely "locks" into drive.....

Anyway, i would hope you learn from that POS trans and not buy another. That garbage has made me swear to never buy a auto car until i'm too old to shift.
