So I pissed of my new car

The SVT sat every winter since new without any Sta-Bil or anything . Hell - some years it only got a couple-thousand miles on it all year (one year it got 1,100 miles) . I never noticed any issues with it when I got in it to drive in spring .

I put more miles on my Tour in a month than you did in a year!!!. Right now it has 173K and still going strong (with a few issues).

I even put more on the Mustang and I mostly just use that for AutoX.

If we didn't go to SZ last year we would have had 1,000 miles on the SVT.
This year since I got it inspected in Feb, it's got about 100 miles on it.

On an "on topic" note:

I don't know if Ken's car would do that with the stock alarm, never tried it. He no longer has the stock alarm though, he now has a new one and a remote start too.

The alarm on my SVT wasn't stock when I bought. It now has a different alarm, different from the one that was installed when I bought it. My SVT doors will lock themselves and if I unlock it from inside, with the windows down, the alarm will go off.

So, I take it the stock "alarm" on the SVT's won't do what Doug's did?

no svt had a factory alarm. dealer add on, possible. that is what I have now. and yes if you lock the car with the remote and then reach through the window to open the door the alarm would go off. pretty sure if you unlocked it through the wndow the same would happen as it needs input from the keyless entry to turn the alarm off.

I was just commenting on the SVT and was just wondering about a stock CSVT "alarm" doing what Doug's did on the Mazda. I guess it threw people off when I said OT. Sorry, I meant alarm OT.

Thanks Brian. I guess the black one had a factory ad on then because his CSVT's alarm went off once before the new one got installed.

I like how the Ford add on alarm works. It integrates itself with the keyless entry so you don't need new remotes or anything. And it has a shock sensor and even accepts a hood pin switch.

^ Yes.

I had the starter kill removed, the one that was on the car when I got it and had something different installed to disable the starter. If the car stalled while driving, like when I needed a new PCV, I now won't have to take the keys out of the ignition, push some remote buttons, put the keys back in and re-start it. Not fun while you are in traffic!
Even if the car was in the garage, remote buttons had to be pushed to start the car. Now, it's easier for me but harder for a thief. :)

My alarm also pages me. Now if the douche at the Hotel Carlisle decides to trash my car again, the alarm will go off, maybe scare him a bit and then I can kill him. Oh snap, never mind, I think he lost his job. < I meant to use that smiley BTW.

Brian, does it also work with a trunk pin? Just curious. I had Doug arm the trunk too when he did the install.
