This is what it looked like after day one. I cleaned it out and took this picture after day two. Suprisingly it diddn't make a tremendous difference between clean and plugged. It looks like a new K&N on the inside still. It's funny because the K&N representative at the rally gave me some stickers to put on my car. I'm not going to put them on unless I get something out of it though. A filter cleaner kit Prehaps.

Here are some links to a few photos of the event. More photos and video will be posted as soon as it's available.

I was going to say, how long did you let the car sit to have some critter do that...then I remember what you do with your car.

reminds me of the stock volvo air filter...comes with a big ol' foam sock covering like 90% of the filter!

of course that's much worse though!!

methinks you should maybe put some screen material in the fender intake, , or close it up completely and fab up some other induction opening, or maybe even just use an open element under the hood but with some sort of shield underneath to stop dirt from just kicking up onto it.

one hole in your filter and

You really need to keep from following those combines so close running through the wheat fields.

Car needs more CEG decal....

Bring them and you can stick them. The next thing that I buy for my car is going to be a wide angle motorsports camera with a suction cup mount. I have a really tight budjet right now. Expect to see goodies in the classifieds soon to offset it. I think that I'm going to buy a third car soon, so very little money is going to go towards the contour. I'm going to keep it race ready at all times, so I'll repair anything that breaks. I would loose my marbles if I didn't go racing all the time. I'm a crackhead and my contour is my fix. My spec-v is pretty fun too.

No, foam would hate that. If anything he'd want one of the fine mesh pre-filters where that stuff would just fall off instead of getting stuck like that although it would all be sitting in the filter cone.

Looks like you did a rally in a corn field.

The headlight idea would work wonders if you can keep functionality.

I would use one of my old headlights. I would put it on at the event, and take it off as I leave. I would be using the light sort of as a mounting bracket for the plumbing to the filter. Plus it will look better in pictures with a headlight still in place.
