Where did this come from?

Yeah good luck Glenn, don't be like me and try to drive 60 miles on a highway in a blizzard with those factors, not fun. Also, don't think that downshifting to first from second going down a hill will slow you down better than brakes...well, at least not if the rpms are over 1,500. And here I thought forced downshifting would help me.

haha, we don't need snow in PA... with the way my tires are looking, im not going to be having any fun when it comes. how are your tires working for you cuda?

My tires definitely aren't bald but they are also not made for the snow. So in other words they suck in it. However, I was able to borrow a jeep to get around in this for right now so I can't complain too much.

Just yesterday(wednesday) it felt kinda warm outside when it was in the mid to late 70 degrees. Right now it's 36 with a low of 31. Glad I'm not in the upper part of Texas since it's worse there. I'm also glad that snow is very rare here.

Always stay a gear higher than you think you should be, and get new tires! Some tires with 10% tread left almost got me killed a couple times one winter, I wouldn't recommend it at all.

I don't usually have any troubles because of a manual tranny, but tires can make a HUGE difference. We just put some new tires on my wife's Jeep GC and it is a huge improvement.

I sorta miss my POS '97 Hyundai Accent. That thing went everywhere I tried to take it with just little dinky $30 all seasons on it. Now I did have the SVT at the end of the winter, and since I live on a hill...it wasn't fun. I slid right past the driveway. Lol.

Yeah I'm surprised to say this but after 60 miles (mainly highway, doesn't sound bad, but again you must remember it was a blizzard, first winter driving manual, wearing almost completely bald summer tires) the only place I got stuck was about 1/8 of a mile from my house, I also live on a hill, and that part was just way too steep, had to park it for the night at my cousins house right down the road, and then take my moms Dakota in 4 hi doing 15-20 all the way to my friends house 'cause I gave him a ride home, and I could still feel that truck not getting much traction whatsoever. Yeah, it sucked.

I love winter
