3L snaps Tranny Mount

Anybody else ever snap their Tranny mount?

The top right bolt snap clear off and took a nice piece of the tranny with it.

The top left bolt was still on the Mount holding the piece that broke off.

WOW! that is a new one on me. that would be the last thing i would expect to see break. unless it were one of the higher powered turbo guys.

i have never seen that before. i'd almost assume that there was an imperfection in the case, thank god it didn't break a hole into the case though.

i beat the hell out of my 3L and it had polymounts and i never had anything like this happen.

that happened to me. bought the black svt that way. my engine was a good 4 inches lower on the right side than it should have been. drove around that way for a little over 10,000 miles. who knows how long before i bought it, it sheared off like that

Happened to me with the stock 2.5L. It didn't take any of the tranny case with it. It just sheared the bolt in half.

BTW I have one of anyone needs one. Not that uncommon of an issue.

Could have been improper torque on the bolts and they loosened and the slamming motion caused the case to break... I dunno - either way that trans is comming out... :nonono:

Actually got it welded with out dropping the tranny

:laugh: welding cast aluminum :laugh: ...whoever did this fix, i hope they did it the proper way...i have my doubts seeing as how you stated they did it without dropping the tranny.

i've snapped the engine mount in half before, it happens.

My stock 2.5l Autotragic did that. To properly weld the case back together, you need to heat the case up to proper welding temp then do it.

never seen/heard about a tour doing that. very very common on the mazda/pgts though

My tranny mount Bolt ripped right off as well....

After my 3L install!!!
