Sell it outright or part it out?

It's been awhile since I've been here. My 2000 Mystique doesn't want to start anymore, she'll turn over but no starting. I've driven the car less than 500 miles in over a year so we clearly don't need it anymore. It has significant front end damage but I had purchased almost all the parts awhile ago to fix it. (Let's face it I love this car - don't tell my wife. :help:) Anyway, should I sell it as is or part it out? It's not costing me anything to keep it as is, but I just think it's time to put her to better use.

You would have an easier time selling it whole at around $500 or so vs parting it out....since it isn't an SVT, I don't see you getting a whole lot out of parts from it.

I would say put the effort into putting the new parts on since you have them. Even if you spent the $ for a rattle can paint match on the new parts, I think you would get a little more so that someone doesn't have to worry about fixing the body damage as well. You could get maybe $800 if it is the V6 and at least put the new parts on it even if they are not painted..... You don't want to part it out because it is not worth your time.

This guy has the right idea, but if you don't feel like messing with all that. Then just sell it. You won't get anything if you part it out.

Why won't it start? If it turns over it either doesn't have fuel or spark...

I'd start by troubleshooting why it won't start. Have you checked the fuel pump shut off switch? That would cause it not to start and could have been tripped when the car was in the accident...
