Hey guys; i was checking my pcm for fault codes and i noticed the throttle position reading goes from 19.2% to 86% at WOT. Should i recalibrate the pcm with an Xcal ? G.
Hi Harrry, all the readings were from moving the throttlebody. The butterfly plate opens and closes fully. I was wondering if this is adding to my idling issues..since i have no fault codes for IACV etc... G.Check to make sure the mat on yor drivers side is pulled back allowing the pedal to reach the bottom. Before you go adjusting anything on your xcal.
hi BrApple; thanks for that. Seems a bit odd though, you'd expect 0 and 100% so that the pcm can adjust everything else accordingly. If anyone can explain the reason..i'm always interested to learn..thanks G.as I recall from checking the throttle position with my auterra scanner is those numbers are correct.
i was wondering if that is on a tuned/remapped setup or stock. Just trying to see if putting an oversized TB with non stock TPS throws the PCM calibrations out.Mine goes from 0-1.00 (0-100%) when data logging on the xcal.
According to the Ford manual, WOT max measurement is 92.27% or 4.60v... so you look to be good there. However, closed throttle position range is 3.43% to 9.80% or 0.17 to 0.49v. You're over double this, so, either your TPS is giving an incorrect reading, or your throttle plate isn't closing completely... more likely the latter.Hey guys; i was checking my pcm for fault codes and i noticed the throttle position reading goes from 19.2% to 86% at WOT.
One reason the operating range is set where it is, is so a hard fault can be quicly and easily identified. A hard fault would typically result in a near-minimum, (0-1%), or near-maximum (99-100%) reading.Seems a bit odd though, you'd expect 0 and 100% so that the pcm can adjust everything else accordingly. If anyone can explain the reason..i'm always interested to learn.
appreciate that SicSE. Now i have a solid basis for measurement. I might swap out my mustang TPS and see if the SVT one is any better in the 65mm TB. ..G.
Uhh..yeah. Pretty sure your not supposed to use the mustang TPS
