Newb: Pics of my Bullitt

She looks really nice man, makes me miss my 01 mineral gray vert. How's the clearance in that thing? I had a Stage 3 roush kit and side pipes and it would scrape everywhere. That's the one thing I dont miss. Now it's time to add some power. Throw a Kenne Bell and you'll be set. I shouldent be talking all I had was an Eaton M90 on mine. :blackeye:

Very very nice Bullitt, one of the nicest I've seen.
It looks like you'll probably be realigning the rear exhaust, and on my Cobra I connected the pipes like a second X/H pipe and I loved how it sounded. Just a thought. Also, some of the Cobra guys polish those under IRS pipes, would probably look good with the polished wheels.
again, sweet car, I like more stang owners here

and BTW, watch mentioning cutting springs on here, there's some sensitive members :help: but I'm with you

The previous owner already polished them once. He said I may need to again to make it bling-bling shiney. I'll have to try my metal polish on it first before wet sanding or something like that.

[Dustin Hoffman Rain Man voice] But, I'm a good driver[/Rain Man voice]

Promise I won't rip on it. :)

"We'll see" is certainly better than an outright no.

;) :D

true. but u already have a bunch of cobra parts? whats an additional shaker?. thats cool tho. i just cant stand the fact that ford was too lazy to cut a friggn hole in mustang hoods to make the scoop practical:mad:. very nice pony regardless.

I don't like the shaker enough to put the entire setup on my car. Especially since all that crap is expensive for a "ram air" setup that is only functional at 80+mph and you only gain .5 hp.

I've seen another DHG Bullitt with the Mach 1 hood & shaker and it just didn't look right to me.

The only thing that is an obvious Cobra part is the front bumper. A lot of people don't notice the mirrors. I'm more of a subtle mod guy. It's the little things that really do it for me. Some times little things are actually large things.. like the IRS. You can't tell it has one just by looking at it, but if you squat down and look up her skirt, you'll see the IRS specific exhaust piping. Then you get the reactions like

Thanks all, for the kind words.

Tomorrow, I'll be taking a look at/test driving the SVT Contour I'm hoping to buy. I just hope I like it well enough and it doesn't have any issues.

Saw a Bullitt this summer with the Cobra bumper etc. swapped on. It certainly makes the car look top notch. It took me a second to realize what he did. Wish I had a pic of it. He did have the Cobra hood too. Looked bad arse.

Hey all! Just wanted to share some new pictures of my Bullitt.
I just swapped in an IRS from a 2004 Cobra on Sunday, and I LOVE how it rides! It's like a different car. She currently has 49k miles.
you know it's funny, when a friend of mine got a GT in 2002 I guess it was (it was before the terminator came out) we swapped in a bullitt suspension (as per rara's recommendation) and he loved it!

Amen to that. Four years post-production and those hoods STILL piss me off everytime I see one. :nonono:

LOL, you guys crack me up. I'm not generally a fan of non-functional scoops, but simply cutting a hole in the hood under the scoop makes the aero on the car significantly worse, lol.

but anyway, on topic, Graves, that's a fine looking bullitt you got there. I'm still partial to the Bullitt, its my favorite of all the mustangs I worked on since it was the first one to hit production. I'm not a big fan of the Mach chin spoiler on the cobra fascia, it looks a bit out of place, but everthing else looks great. The folding terminator mirrors are a great addition for cool subtle appearance mods, which the Bullitt is the king of for mustangs anyway (people really underestimate what the Bullitt specific C-pillar trim, side skirts and side scoops do for the SN95 lines) I do wish that the lip spoiler from the concept had made it to the production car though.

The IRS really makes the car feel more settled than the stock stick axle, doesn't it? Really makes the rear end feel flatter and more composed around bumps and stuff; it brings the rear roll center down almost 12".

amazing. love it.
if you have a full size pic, the rear end shot, can you pm it me please as i want it for a desktop background.

I think he was oversimplifying the point, but I also think that it wouldn't take much to make the scoop functional and not completely ruin the aerodynamics.

Damn... a different car indeed.
