Welp since Mike and I weren't able to make it to the show at the candy mansion, but the cars were still pristine, I wanted to at least show them SOMEWHERE, especially with the nice weather.
I looked around and FFW was the only show I could find over the weekend.
So yesterday we said why not, and headed over there.
$35 per car for the day - I guess the pricing is still just as crappy as ever.
Not a whole lot of cars showing. More modern Mustangs than I can ever remember, and barely anything else.
To our surprise, we took home two awards. Mike received Best Compact and I received Best Mercury. wtf?!
Pretty nice surprise.
The plaques only say "Class Winner" on them. They've really gotten cheap with the awards there.
You can also tell that the plaque is from last year or something because they stuck on a sticker to say 2008.
meh
I shouldn't complain though. It was pretty thrilling to get the recognition.
Oh and another bizarre thing (which I still want to look into the reasoning) there were a bunch of GM and Dodge cars racing in the drag races (Corvette, Camaros, a Neon, a Ram to name a few). Oh and a G35 raced too. W T F? hello? it's called Fun Ford Weekend.
pfft whatever
So I guess we're not the only group that pretty much abandoned that event.
There were barely any classic cars there at all either. Pretty disappointing.
