Hey, my 2000 SVT has a CEL, and the two codes are P0172 and P0175(Bank 1 and 2 rich). I original thought the 02 sensors, but the likelihood of both sensors going at the same time made me think otherwise. There are a few minor symptoms, nothing major. First, the idle is funky sometimes. When coming to a stop, the engine seems to hover at ~1100 rpms, then drops to the normal 850 after a couple seconds. After higher rpm driving, sometimes it dies when coming to a stop. it did this consistently for about a week, but since then the problems been pretty much dormant. The biggest issue I have is during heavy acceleration, when the engine gets to about 6k rpms it misses I guess, and the rpms wont go any higher. Its a weird sound, almost like a backfire kind of thing.
I thought this could all be because of a bad MAF sensor(I have a CAI with an oiled filter of course), but I unplugged it while idling and the rpms dropped, the idle was all over the place, and it almost died. Would that mean the sensor is doing its job?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks

first I would try cleaning the maf.

next if you haven't changed the plugs and wires in some time that would be the next step. Sounds like you have a miss fire at high rpm.

throw a fuel filter in there for good measure also.

I unplugged the MAF, and the idle got really bad. Wouldn't that mean it is functioning properly? I'll clean it anyway for good measures. Do you think that the high rpm miss and the cel codes are related?

Ok, little update. The high RPM miss is gone now, but all my interior lights flicker, mainly at just below 2k rpm. Any ideas?

sounds like a vacuum leak to me. a high idle would give the indication of a vacuum leak. unplugging the MAF would only make your problem worse. so I would agree with you that its working fine.
