Was wondering what you gined by doing the 3 liter swap, do you do it for the torque. I mean these motors come out of a Taurus right?

If you had read any of the 3L threads you would see most end up with almost 200whp and 200wtq. Stock SVT 2.5's put down 170ish hp and I forget the tq #. The 3L engines used are usually from 02-04 Taurus, Escape, Sable, etc.

The 3L's are more reliable due to extra oil drain backs in the heads to help prevent oil starvation which is somewhat common on the 2.5L's. A good amount of 3L swaps are because the 2.5L motor spun a bearing due to oil starvation.
