Winning bid:US $1,022.22

Sells to:United StatesItem location:North Creek, NY,

Congrats?
I hope you looked at it first! No description nor pictures of its condition.

Oh, and for almost exactly the same price, I also picked up one of these from eBay:

This is a salvage vehicle and is being sold for parts only. It is not operational or street legal. Therefore, upon purchase, it will need to be either towed or put on a trailer. This item is NOT eligible for the eBay Motors Vehicle Purchase Protection Program. I am selling this car for a friend. It is a 1999 Ford contour svt though odometer reads 148419 miles. It had a new motor put in at 126000 miles and new transmission put in at 133000 miles. It was lowered one inch, new coil lowering springs, struts, and mounts at 136000 miles. new front and rear breaks with slotted rotors and 130000 miles. New tires, maybe a thousand miles on them cold air intake leather interior, sunroof, white faced gauges, no radio. This car has been hit in the rear, it was totaled but the title reads clean, we are not sure what kind of title you will get back this car is going to be sold as is and for parts only. It is located in Schenectady NY for $2 dollars a mile I will deliver for up to 100 miles.

Ahh, so your the person that got that. I think you paid way to much for that too.

I stopped my bid at $200. It isn't worth more that $800. Well anyway good luck with it. Are you going to fix it or part it out?

BTW Greg/aircougar bought one a while ago that had the engine replaced and a regular 2.5 motor was put in. No SVT cams! Hope that's not the case with yours.

I got the SVT because it was local and it might not be that bad of a repair. I have friend who does body work, who I've helped out of a jam before.

If he can fix it and get it back on the road for me, great. If not, I can use a lot of the parts and sell the rest.

Or were you talking about the Voyager? I got a great deal on that. I bought it from a school district so it was well maintained and I have all the maintenance records.

Figure
$300 Front bumper
$250 UIM, LIM, TB
$75 Side Skirt x2
$100 headlights.
Look at that, $800 in just those 4 parts easy. Now you still have the rest of the car to part out if he can't get it back on the road.

Now $1000 for the minivan is just too much.

Come on - its deep metallic plum! Plus I can fit all those parts in my new (to me) minivan and still have room for passengers.

I've had SVT's with popped motors that had already been replaced once and 3 of them were regular 2.5's with just the black SVT valve covers and SVT intakes/injectors. One of the shops only replaced the front valve cover to the black SVT and left the rear SE valve cover on! Kinda sucks when you go to sell the cams and realize they aren't SVT cams! :( I hope he doesn't have a SE motor though.

How can I quickly tell without taking the engine apart? What do I look for. All I know is that it does have the black front SVT valve cover and the SVT plate.

well then it at least has the vavle covers and most likely the TB.

check the injector color. orange or green is svt, tan is SE. if you have tan injectors then it most likely has an se engine.

you could look for the oil cooler and stab-o-shock also, they mey or maynot have been swapped over.

I don't remember can the cam stripe be seen through the oil filler cap? If not Pull the UIM and then pop the front vavle cover off.

What does the stab o shock do anywhos? (You should know this by now.....I is dumbz). I see it sitting under there...sitting all alone.

I don't think that it can so you would have to pull the valve cover.

its suppose to help dampen engine rototation.

...to reduce wheel hop. :)

As for the what to check for an SE motor... you will have to pull a valve cover to check the cams or just have someone who has driven 25+ SVT's such as myself get behind the wheel and tell you! It is very obvious. I highly doubt you have SE injectors and such. They would be stupid to not swap over the SVT stuff so that it will at least feel like it runs okay. It would run lean with the SE injectors for sure. All of my blown up SE powered SVT's that I bought ended up having the stab o shock, SVT oil cooler, SVT injectors, intake manifolds and most of the valve covers, etc... Without being able to drive them, I didn't know they were SE block/heads/cams until I tore them down!
