I am looking to get two new struts, two new coil springs, and two new strut mounts for my SVT. I was wondering where people get their parts from? and about how much to you pay? I am not looking for the very best, but all around good parts, that will last awhile. As my budget is stretched thin as it is.

thanks,
Adam

You'll get some different answers on this, depending on who you ask, but my car is bone stock, and I like it that way. I use all Ford / Motorcraft parts whenever I can, and Steve or Kevin at Tousley Ford in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, are my sources. They're prices are unbeatable, their service excellent, and they ship promptly. Give them a call at 800-328-9552, mention the SVT discount, and have them check price and availability on all the stuff you need. I think you'll be pleased.

thanks for pointing me to these guys. I ordered two coil springs, two struts, two strut mounts, and bearing plates for about $294. Kevin is a great guy. I am happy with this price. Also Josh (Pole120) Will be doing the install, so I can't complain :) I am sure this will change the ride of the car too.

Glad to help. You bet it will improve the way the car drives. Say goodbye to the clunk of bad strut mounts!

cool! :) I know I need to take care of the clunk in the rear of the car too, but this is going to have to wait until I can get some more money to replace whatever is the problem back there. I will be driving on a broken spring for a few more weeks. So hopefully I won't have any problems with it. It was kinda alot of money to shell out, especially when I have other problems with the car, but I need to fix it so, its like fixing one problem at a time.

Sometimes that's the way you gotta do it, unless you've got a money tree out back you can shake.

Your most common culprits for noise in the tail will be your sway bar end links and rear strut mounts. Worn sway bar bushings can also make themselves heard. Good news is, all of those parts are pretty short money, so you should be able to tackle that without too much red ink. If you're going to do rear suspension, I definitely recommend replacing that stuff if it hasn't been done when you go to do the struts and springs. Save on labor and then be able to sit back and enjoy your "new" car.
