So I started polishing the car with my new Porter Cable tonight (still have to apply sealent and wax it) but anyway, couldn't sleep, so here I am. ONe thing led to another and as I was going around wiping off some of the polish I missed earlier I noticed leaves under the cowl, which got me thinking about the cabin air filter needing to be replaced, which got me thinking the wiper arms needed a fresh coat of paint, which led to the windshield trim also needing paint. So anyway, here is how the car sits now...

So there ya have it 1:00am and I'm tearing my car apart.

Also I know this has been discussed, but I'm considering body matching the windshield trim, but not sure it would look right.

What do you think CEG (don't worry about being blunt, that's why I ask these things here!)?

yeah I don't think that would look right.

sounds like your becoming a typical CEGer

how do you like the PC?

So far I like it. I had a little trouble applying\removing the cutting compound, but I think that will come with experience. Getting ready to go out and apply the sealent now.

I just took the cowl off to run a power wire for a subwoofer and noticed the cabin air filter....mine was the original I'm sure also...yuck!

Ya Dave no color match on the window trim. Cant wait tosee the finished product of all the cleaning and polishing! As Brian said your becoming a typical CEGer lol.

HAHAHA.. Ya SZ was good for me (unless you ask the wife). Really let me see how my car could look. And the window trim is GOING BLACK....

Applying sealent right now. I've got pics of the entire process, not washed, washed/claybarred, polish, soon to be taken, sealed and then waxed. I just can't forget to do to wheels, want to clay and seal them also.

how do you get the windshield trim off? always wanted to paint mine...

Started at the bottom, took a flat head screwdriver from the outside edge (wrapped) it in a towel to keep from scratching the paint and just gently pryed down towards the ground. I'll try to get some pictures up.

As requested. Note, I used the how to elsewhere on the, and I did notied I slightly twisted or bent the lower end of the pass side as that write up (while excellent) said to pull up on it and you will see what to do. I think I was able to bend it back, won't until I try replacing it again. Once it started to pop it came right off with no problem.

1. I slid the screw driver under bare to get a bit of gap to allow the towel to fit also.

2. Wrapped screwdriver in towel and applied gentle downward pressure (towards the ground)
