Have my dad's '99 T-Red which had to be left behind due to the shifter coming apart three days before they closed and moved out of their Detroit house. Damn, got stuck driving it this week. Life is rough.

First shots with my umbrellas, not enough time last night to do much editing.

A few other shots...http://mlav.com

Umbrellas for the last one only; the first two are just panning shots while I stood in the lot, 1/15s on the first. Only had my 17-40, should have also brought the 20D/70-200 2.8.

Awesome photos and a nice set of cameras/lenses, but of course, I'm a bit partial :o

What kind of lights are you using?

Thanks, two stands with 33" umbrellas. Last night I had my 580 on the 40D as master with a 580II and 430 on the stands.

This setup just BARELY works; to get the exposure low enough to get the black background, the flashes are max'd out for power (+3 FEC, 1:1 ratio). The 430 is slightly weaker than the 580 so I had it in front of the car since it has to light a smaller area. In this situation, I think an on-camera ST-E2 master and extra stand with the third Speedlite would be nice.

Maybe 48" umbrellas would help(?). This is the first time I have tried shooting a car with this lighting and only the second time using umbrellas. Just bought the stuff to utilize the Speedlites for something new...and to get some practice before dropping four figures on real studio lighting.

Nice. What were you using to trigger the lights?
