I had a SVT license plate frame made custom for my car (since the real ones are $$$ now) and it was stolen from the envelope on its way to my house. I have contacted the company and I am getting a replacement but if anyone sees a SVT plate frame that looks similiar to the real SVT one but has my build number #1701/2760 printed across the bottom go on ebay or something... please PM me.

I have no idea... All that was in the envalope was the plastic sleeve that the frame was in. If I had made an exact replica of the original SVT one I could somewhat understand because those sell for $100 + on ebay... but this one had my build number on it. I think its funny someone wanted a $9 license plate frame that badly.

Maybe the weight of it cut the envelope and its at the bottom of the posties bag or something?

Oh, since I suspect anyone interested in an SVT plate frame might be drawn to this thread....

BEWARE!!

The "official" plate frames on ebay right now are NOT real! they are fakes being sold at the price of real ones!

The real one has 4 holes, caps.

How much are the real ones actually worth?

I don't know what the original ones sold for, probably $20 but due to the extremely low supply of them now, they are honestly fetching $100 on ebay because of how hard they are to find. I remember a year ago they were $47 or something and I thought that was rediculous. Now I am willing to pay $47 and they've jumped to 100

lol wtf
I have one of those sitting in my basement next to some car show trophies.
crazy how badly people want them.
(and no frickin way can you buy it from me either).

I owned both of those plate frames at one point. I thought it looked cheesy on my car so I gave them both away at SZ 06 as prizes.

I really don't see what's so great about them.

I've been trying to find a real one for a long time. And even though I've had this one made, I'll still be looking. Having a plate frame cleans up the plate in my opinion and what better than to have an SVT one

I think they are ugly..... Plain Black or Paint Matched License plate holder is the best way to go... In this case I have none.

wow one away from my build number, I hate to see stuff get stole/lost in the mail. One of our UPS drivers is in jail for stealing over 250K worth of stuff spanning 3 years.

wow i got my real one for like $25 from ford when i got my car. or what ever they went for. now I'm scared its going to be stolen off my car.

Also those of you that have real ones. the red fades really fast so make sure there is always wax on it if its on your car!!!!!!!!!

I've got one of the real ones on my car now. My only problem is that it is about 2 years old and the red is all faded already. UGH!

yea the bottom red is faded on mine. but the top is good. i wonder if we hit the red with a clear coat and that would bring the gloss and color back. its going to take a lot of masking though. what do you think? i think it might just work.

Yep, my real one if faded pretty bad too....I think it was like $47 on Ebay. I told the GF she was NUTS paying that much for a stupid license plate frame, I had no idea how hard they are to come by.

My biggest complaint is the bottom where it says SVT comes up too high and you cant see the 'Collector' marking on my license plate. Now nobody can see that I have collector plates :(
