I have a 98 2.5L V6 149k miles. Over the last few weeks the "check engine" light has been coming on for a few days then clearing itself for a few days. The only code it is showing when I check it at the local autozone is P1131.
A basic search gave me a few places to start. Like cleaning the MAF and checking for vacuum leaks around the intake and/or PCV system (PCV Valve is new). The other possibility is the upper bank 1 O2 sensors.
My question is this; There are MIL Eliminators on the lower to O2 sensors, would that make it more likely to be the MAF or a vacuum leak or is this code more a funtion of the output of the top O2 sensor independant of the reading from the downstream sensor after that cat?
Thanks,
Bob
