I was tooling around town today, not driving particularly hard or anything. I approached a stoplight in 5th gear and pushed the clutch pedal in, only to have the revs hang for a good 5-6 seconds around 3000rpm before dropping down like normal. I was a little confused at first, but I chose to ignore it and continued driving the car around. A few hours later, the same thing happened, except this time it was during acceleration when I was changing from 3rd to 4th. Finally, about an hour ago, I coasted to a stoplight in 5th and pushed the clutch in again-same thing! The revs hang around 3000rpm for a few seconds before dropping down.

What the hell is going on?

its called throttle hang. it happens to a lot of cars. there are generally a couple of advice u'll get on here.
1) clean ur throttle body
2)and then do some modification using a pin or sumthn.
next time, just type in throttle hang in the search line. am sure a bunch of stuff will come up.

One other thing that can cause this but it not as likely, it a TPS failure. TPS's don't suddenly just fail but a failure of one can cause this condition. I have a TPS failure and what you discribed happened to my car. I fixed it by replacing the TPS.

A "throttle hang" will not cause a CEL code, a TPS failure will. Check for a CEL.

There is no CEL.

The car hasn't done this the last two days, and I've put about 60 miles on it since the problem arose on the 24th.
