Whenever I drive without the ac on, i note that there is an immediate response when I press on the throttle. However, when the ac is on, almost instantly, the response goes away and it takes a while before the car responses to the acceleration. I installed an aftermarket intake, ummm, sad to say bought it off ebay. I will buy a better one soon! So dont flame me... anyways, after the installation I noticed this problem. I don't know if this is because of the air filter, because I didn't notice it with the stock one. Probably because it is the filter causing the problem. Anyways, i just want to run it by all of you guys first.... just for reassurance.

the A/C will take power.. unless you are WOT in which case the A/C clutch is bypassed. otherwise, however, you will feel it being slightly more sluggish, etc.

Try restoring it to stock setup. It may be the Intake cause a loss of torque at low RPM. Otherwise, the A/C does sap power, worse the hotter it gets ouside. I had 90 degree weather, and now 60 degree weather here in NY, and my Mystique is peppy when A/C not needed, sort of slow with it in use.
