Its been a while since I've posted on the CEG boards since my SVT was totaled but I'm still lurking around. This is my newest ride, a 2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V. From the factory it has 180 HP and a nice 6-speed with a limited slip so its been a pretty fun car and still pulling 28 MPG. So far I've added an AEM intake, SAFC, and a Magnaflow catback, next up on the list is a header, midpipe, and I gotta get some tint on her whenever funds permit.

Nice SE-R spec V:shocked: I have always like them, but I wonder if the SVT contour was still being made, since we had 200 HP back 2000, and the new civic SI has 197 hp, would are SVT contour's be at like 250-280 HP?

One of these bad boys was following me on the highway today. With the slick grille and "hightowers," it is a pretty good looking car. I'm a fan.

needs less wheel gap.

Nice looking, dont care for the lower mesh though.

Agreed on the wheel gap. And for the lower mesh its the same as the top but the last owner did a bad job painting it so I'm going to pull it and repaint it black. It looks a lot better in person but I had just the right camera angle to catch it looking silver :(

Meh, I'm thinking they'd probably have maybe 240 if they still had a 2.5/3.0.

I know my car with ~190 HP isn't too impressive but power to weight ratio is there. IIRC my SVT weighed in at ~3200 for 16 LBS per HP. The SE-R weighs in at ~2700 for 14.5 LBS per HP

Third generation Altima's have unfortunately been affected by a recall related to the intake manifold and the Power Valves, also known as the Butterfly Valve. The Technical Service Bulletin - Campaign Number P5202 - does not mention all affected vehicles for production years with the same intake manifold design. This has left some owners affected by the problem with no recourse or remedy for what in some cases has amounted to catastrophic engine failure.

The Power Valve is a series of four plates in the QR25DE 4-cylinder engine, one per cylinder. The plates open and close simultaneously to allow more air into the combustion chamber for increased power. Each plate is held in place by two screws. The screws have been known to come loose as well as the plates and are then ingested into the engine via the intake ports. Nissan's remedy has been to remove the intake manifold, and if the screws are present, remove them and apply loctite upon reinstalling the screws. Nissan has in some cases elected to replace entire engines, however on a selective basis.

Hmm, news to me. That is the engine I have, however my engine is a new longblock from Nissan built in 2006 so I wonder if that problem is fixed  I'll have to ask Nissan about that

When i was looking at a Spec-V, it had had the intake manifold replaced because it had been sucked into the block. Weird, i know. lol

Very nice ride!

I love those cars but I think Nissan could have done a better job making them look a little more aggressive. The ride height and bumpers don't really set the SE-R apart from lower trim level Sentra's.

thats the only thing I don't like I liike the aggressive looks of the 03, but hate that interior, but then I like the interior of the 05 year I think it is? but the 05 has the boring exterior looks, looks like a normal ecno box sentra, got to see the side skirts, dual tip muffler, the 17" rims, and the badges, other then that, looks the a regular sentra

I like the different front bumper and sideskirts the SE-R gets, but the rear bumper is in desperate need of a Nismo rear lip to set it apart from the other Sentras. The interior is really nice, minus all of the nooks and crannies where dust can hide.
