hey, i'm swapping the cyclops light housings and i cant seem to get it out. i know that theres two screws on the bottom that i need to get to through the trunk, but i cant seem to find them. any help?

I have done that too, but it was in conjunction with changing out the rear deck lid and instaling the fold down seat back. As I recall it is attached to the rear deck lid and you need to remove that then chang out the light.

Remove the rear seat
Remove the rear seat back
Remove the rear deck lid
Swap the light and reinstall. Screws are on the bottom of the rear deck lid, about 1/2" in from each end, I think there was a couple of clips on the bottom that grabbed the rear deck lid, so after the screws were removed it needs to move to the rear to remove it.

I have an extra one and will check this evening.

If you are just swapping the light access cover it clips on from the rear.

nooo, lol. the 3rd brake light is also known as a cyclops light. at least thats what all the junkyard people call it in buffalo. one of the tabs on mine broke on mine so the access cover wouldnt stay on. so i just picked up a new one at the junkyard for like $5

Here is the deal......
The light is held in place by two screws 3/4" in from each side near the forward joint where the cover meets the body of the light. If you were to lay on your back in the trunk, and look up at the bottom of the rear deck you would see the hole where the light connector comes through. Then you would see the four clips that hold the rear deck cover down. The screws are located on the outside of the inner two clips. I do not know if you can actually see them from in the trunk, but that is where they are located on the rear deck cover. I have a cover that's on it's way to the dump and I just pulled my extra light off it. The light fits very tight against the rear window and it has a small rubber gasket around it to block out light leaks. This gasket could possibly stick to the glass.

I'm sure you have cleaned up the light assembly and checked all the lights. I had a couple burned out.

That's my 2 cents
