Sway bar shaft collars?

The stock SVT rear sway bar has shoulders affixed outboard of the bushings that laterally locate the bar so that it can't slide side to side. The Roush bar that I just installed doesn't have anything like that. My question is, does the upgraded sway bar need anything to keep it in place laterally? Are the end links going to wear more quickly without these shoulders since the bar may slide side to side and flex them? Has anyone put shaft collars on an aftermarket bar and is this advisable? TIA.

Oh...I just looked at the B.A.T. catalog and noticed that those do have the "bushing limiters." I wonder why the Roush ones don't? It seems kind of important. Anyone with a Roush bar have any input? I guess I'll be ordering some shaft collars...

I have had this bar on the car for over 3 years with no collar. I can see marks on the bar itself that shows it is moving side to side.

Im really not worried about it at this point, unless someone can show me a good reason to install the collars.

What kind of end links do you have and have they seemed to wear more quickly? Also, just out of curiosity, is your subframe reinforced?

The Aussie bar also doesn't have the stops. Your subframe should be boxed if you're playing with any aftermarket sway bar.

Without collars the ride and handling will degrade a bit. Also you could get contact between the bar/link and something else.

Take a piece of rubber hose and clamp it onto the bar with a hose clamp.
