msds headers

With a MSDS header install don't you have to lengthen the EGR tube and does anyone know how long to lengthen it by?

You don't have to do this with the MSDS headers. I believe it was something you had to do with the Weapon R headers.

Weapon-R headers only. The Weapon-R's were designed for the late 01-02 Cougars. The EGR bung was moved to a different location on the rear manifold resulting in a longer pipe.

Extend the pipe or use a late Cougar EGR pipe when installing Weapon R headers.

Awesome! - I am so glad I have MSDS on the way...... One less thing to deal with. PHWEEEEW

Oh :censored::censored::censored::censored:.... I am doing the swap, what do I have to do? FYI I am doing a ported 3L which uses the SVT upper end.... so I don't think anything will need to be changed on the EGR tube..... hopefully

Joe because you are using MSDS headers and going with a ported 3L using the SVT UIM you will not need to do anything, it all bolts up as stock.

Crap you're right I forgot about that.

You may have to cut the pipes and ferrule them together with some brass fittings or just weld.

in a straight 3L swap you will have to rework the EGR because of the different UIM manifolds.

with the Weapon R headers you use a 5/8 (iirc) compression fitting to make everything work. Stazi posted pics back on the old forum about what to do ....

I was reading the post by Stazi from back in the day and I didn't know it was Weapon R specific, I thought it was for any aftermarket header. Thank you for clearing it all up guys - JOE

Sorry for hijacking this thread , but i've been trying to contact MSDS for a week now and I only get to their voice mail and I get no respons on e-mail.

Is there any other magic way to contact them besides the numbers on their site?

I just called yesterday and left a voice mail; Marty called me back the same afternoon.

It took about 4 phone calls to get someone to answer. I also mailed my certificate for my free headers and that was about 2 weeks ago and still no headers....
